The Start of Something New

Blue sighed and stretched her arms behind her as she made the walk to Profesor Sycamore's Lab. She lived in Hoenn, but had decided to start her journey in Sumorei Island, far away from those she knew. It wasn't that she didn't love her family, because she did, it was the rest of her town she didn't care for. Or more that they didn't care for her. Why? She wasn't quite sure. Perhaps it was because they were jealous of how close she was to Pokemon, and that she'd rather spend her time with them rather than humans. For whatever the reason, it was because of them that she traveled so far away.

Her face brightened when she saw the lab come into view, and quickened her pace to get there faster. She stopped at the door, taking a deep breath, and then opening it and stepping inside."Excuse me, Professor Sycamore? I don't mean to bother you, but I'm here for my first Pokemon."She said, a smile gracing her features, though inside she was overwhelmed with anxiety. Most kids started their Pokemon journey at the age of 10, so starting at the age of 13 made her feel a little uncomfortable, as though starting late was a sign of shame.

Professor Sycamore;

Professor Sycamore was surprised at the sudden bursting of the door. Usually people knocked but this young trainer was obviously eager. He walked to her and looked her up and down. He assumed she was over ten so walked her to a table near the back of the room. On it were four pokéballs with a label in front of each. He nodded towards them and smiled. "Take your pick," he said reassuringly. "We have some great choices at the moment!" Sycamore was passionate about his job and loved to meet new trainers.

Ayame smiled and blushed after realising it probably wasn't the best choice of just bursting into Professor Sycamore's lab like she did. She walked with him over to a table that held four Pokeballs, and she shifted her feet while she thought it over. She loved fire Pokemon, but she wasn't so sure if Torchic was for her. She wasn't really fond of water Pokemon, so that left Totodile out, and although she did like Bulbasaur, she wasn't quite sure if that was the one she wanted. Her eyes drifted to the Pokeball that held Pachirisu, and she sighed. It was a cute Pokemon, and she did like elctric types, but a Pachirisu could be quite a bit to handle.

She looked them over one last time, took a deep breath, and then turned to face the Professor with a grin."I've decided...I want Pachirisu, please."She told him, butterflies fluttering in her stomach from the excitement. She was about to get her very first Pokemon. A Pokemon that was her partner, her companion, and her friend. They would be together every moment on her adventure, training together, catching more Pokemon, and battling.

The professor smiled at her desicision. "You must be a tough girl," he picked up the ball conatining the squirrel pokémon and held it out, "Pachirisu is a feisty little thing. They can be quite tough to train but you look a worthy trainer." He handed her the pokéball and a pokédex. With it he gave her a small pink bag that would fit around her waist. He clipped the pachirisu to it and placed the pokédex inside. He opened it to show her. Inside were some more items for her journey. "I look forward to meeting you again one day!" he called, even though she was till very close. "I must ask you though," he started, "Pachirisu can learn bide or quick attack. Have you a preference on which yours should learn?"

Blue felt her face grow hot at his compliment."Oh no, not me. I mean, I could probably, but I'm not."She said, stumbling over her words for something to say, then sighed and smiled."Thank you Professor."She slowly took the bag from him after he had clipped the ball to it and placed the Pokedex inside, placing it around her waist. She loved the color, it was one of her favorites."I look forward to seeing you again as well Professor."She called back, starting to walk back to the door. At his question, she paused with her hand on the door, and turned her head to look back at him.'Bide or Quick Attack?'She thought to herself. She had never thought of the choice beforehand, but it wasn't to hard to choose her answer. Bide was a great attack, if your Pokemon was strong enough to hold out in order to use it."Quick Attack."She said, then laughed lightly and skipped out the door, finally beginning her journey.
